Ants on the Peony (California)
I grew up kneeling in my garden watching the tiny ants crawl up the peonies. I loved to see how they maneuvered up the waxy greens, on their way to the tightly folded blossoms. Did you know that peonies and ants have a mutualistic relationship? They both benefit from each other but it is actually a myth that peonies NEED ants to bloom. Peonies produce a sugary nectar that ants love, and their presence on the flowers helps deter potentially harmful insects from feeding on them.
This is a 4 x 6 inch signed original acrylic painting on a wooden panel.
Option to place it in a black wooden frame with glass front and removable backing for an additional cost. $200
