I stumbled upon a blooming banana plant on a walk through the jungle in Costa Rica one day. Not only was the blossom beautiful, but the way that these bees were dancing upon it in their search for nectar really captivated me. This part of a wild banana plant is called inflorescence, and insects (as well as bats) play a critical role in pollination here.
I had my macro lens on my camera and was able to get some nice photos that I later used as reference while painting this special memory.
Size is 16 x 20 inches. Original and signed acrylic painting on wood canvas board. Option to put a hand made wooden frame around the canvas (keeping an open face) for an additional cost. Please contact me if this is something you want!
