Happy Scarlet Macaw (Costa Rica)
During my time in Costa Rica there were many special moments that I felt needed to be painted. This is one of them. I was walking alone on my way to the beach when I suddenly saw motion, and this scarlet Macaw was fidgeting in the flowering canopy right above me. I had my zoom lens and was able to get some photographs, which I then used as reference photos for this painting.
This is an original acrylic painting and the first of four in my “mini memories” series. The painting itself is 1 ½ x 2 ¼ inches , the whole paper is 2x2 ¾ in.
